Why study History in London
Access to sources, especially primary sources, is a key element of studying History. This makes London a perfect location with its variety of archives and libraries. NCH students have access to Senate House Library and the British Library, with its diverse and rare collections. Students can also access the National Archives – the official archive of national documents in the UK.
London’s museums allow History students to explore sources outside of the NCH curriculum. The British Museum is only 3 minutes’ walk away from NCH. Other museums of interest include: the Natural History Museum, the V&A, the London Transport Museum and the Imperial War Museum.
London is filled with historical locations of interest, which History students are encouraged to explore outside of the classroom. These include: the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Hampton Court Palace, the Roman Walls, St Paul’s Cathedral.
If you love the idea of studying in a city and area filled with history and culture and with access to a plethora of sources in various archives, study in London. Study at NCH.
