Shakespeare: The Bad Poet

Dr. Daniel Swift discusses Shakespeare during National Shakespeare Week, where we celebrate Shakespeare’s great poetry.

Dr. Swift suggests that we should also celebrate his bad poetry too, with an example of one lesson we can learn from ‘As You Like It’.

Dr Daniel Swift is a Senior Lecturer in English. He has a BA from Oxford University and a PhD from Columbia University in New York. He has written books about William Shakespeare, Ezra Pound, and the poetry of the Second World War, and edited the poems of John Berryman.
