A C Grayling: 10 Minutes on ‘Theory of Knowledge’

Professor A.C. Grayling, Master of New College of the Humanities, on the Theory of Knowledge

The theory of knowledge asks the questions central to understanding the world around us, questions such as “What is knowledge?” and “What is it to know something?”.

Professor A.C. Grayling starts off with the three conditions necessary to satisy the belief that you know something, including the reasons underlying your belief of something to be true. He then goes on to discuss evidence and the different types of evidence used in the world to justify different theories and arguments. Finally, Professor Grayling discusses the importance of framing your hypotheses and beliefs in the correct way to correctly express your ideas.
