‘Friction and Sparks: Developing and Maintaining Tension in your Creative Writing’
Arresting and keeping your reader’s attention is a vital skill for creative writers of all kinds. One of the keys to keeping your reader hooked is by developing tension in your story, poem or script. But what is tension, and how is it achieved? In this Creative Writing Taster workshop you will be guided through a series of writing exercises, adapted from the Creative Writing minor at NCH, designed to help you deepen your understanding of dramatic tension and conflict, and how to use it to keep your reader riveted.
We look forward to welcoming current Year 12 and Year 13 who are interested in studying Creative Writing.
