Work

Students who are studying at Northeastern University London on a Student Visa are entitled to work in the UK.*  This entitlement is restricted to a maximum of 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during term break and includes both paid and voluntary work. Students’ work must not interfere with their studies.

Visa students are not allowed to engage in business activities (including self-employment) or work as a professional sportsperson or entertainer.

Working over your entitled weekly hours, or working when you do not have working rights in the UK is illegal and can result in your visa being curtailed.

Postgraduate

Full-time Postgraduate students must be aware that their Trinity term is April – September inclusive and they must not work more than 20 hours per week over summer.

Students who are studying a postgraduate programme part-time are not entitled to work.

*Some students who have a Tier 4 visa are not entitled to work in the UK.  Please check your BRP card for your working rights.
