Our Digital & Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship will provide the perfect route into IT Service Management, Business Analyst and IT Consulting roles.  Supported by some of the UK’s biggest and best employers, apprentices will have the opportunity to gain a Degree while delivering outstanding service to public and private sector clients.

What work will I be doing?

By embedding platform technology within the heart of the apprenticeship, you will gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours to support IT service management and professional services, such as consulting on business process improvement.  You will also learn core business skills such as project management, consulting skills, team working and business strategy.  The apprenticeship is designed to prepare you for your role, so whether you work on system administration, implementation or development, the apprenticeship will also give you the skills, knowledge and behaviours to progress in your employment and take on new challenges.  Typical roles that this apprenticeship prepares you for include:

IT consultant:

An IT consultant requires a broad set of skills in business analysis, solutions development, network infrastructure, data, cyber security etc. They use their consulting skills in order to advise clients on how to best utilise technology to meet their business objectives, overcome problems and increase productivity. They provide strategic guidance to clients with regard to technology and facilitate changing business processes through enhancements to technology solutions. They provide technical assistance and are often responsible for providing training.

Business analyst

A business analyst is responsible for assessing the business impact of change, capturing, analysing and documenting requirements and supporting the communication and delivery of requirements with relevant stakeholders. They create detailed analysis of systems and make recommendations for improvement. They produce specifications of user requirements that enable software engineers to develop the right software solutions. They require a broad foundation of skills and knowledge to be able to be effective as their work incorporates all aspects of digital technology systems.

How will I be learning?

We plan to deliver a modular, stackable degree experience, where we can take account of your prior learning and build a learning programme that gets you as productive as possible, as soon as possible.

Delivery will include block learning, online courses, assignments and project work.  You will learn both on and off the job.  The location of the learning delivery will depend on where you are employed, but it is likely that some travel will be required – your employer will cover your costs for this.
