Postgraduate tuition fees
Tuition fees vary depending on the course you choose and whether you are a home, (UK/EU/EEA/Swiss passport holder), or international student. Postgraduate tuition fees for the 2018/19 academic session are:
MA Communicating Economic Policy
Home fee: full-time £8,000 per year, part-time £4,000 per year
International fee: full-time only £13,000
MSc Global Politics
Home fee: full-time £8,000, part-time £4,000 per year
International: fee full-time only £13,000
MA Historical Research & Public History
Home fee: full-time £8,000, part-time £4,000
International fee: full-time only £13,000
MA Philosophy
Home fee: full-time £10,000, part-time £5,000 per year
International fee: full-time only £14,000
Postgraduate funding
Postgraduate Loan for master’s study
The UK Government Postgraduate Loan (PGL) of up to £10,906 per student for postgraduate master’s study in the UK is available for students normally residing in England, including students from the EU, EAA and Swiss passport holders. PGL will be a contribution towards the costs of study and whether the loan is used towards fees, maintenance or other costs will be at your own discretion.
There are separate loans for students domiciled in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

NCH postgraduate tuition fee payment plans
We offer the option to spread the cost of your fees across the duration of your studies by paying by monthly direct debit.
MA Economic Policy & Communication, MSc Global Politics and MA Historical Research & Public History
- For a full-time, one-year master’s programme, home students will pay 11 equal monthly payments of £727.27
- For a part-time, two-year master’s programme, home students will pay 11 equal monthly payments of £363.63 in each academic year
MA Philosophy
- For a full-time, one-year master’s programme, home students will pay 11 equal monthly payments of £909.09
- For a part-time, two-year master’s programme, home students will pay 11 equal monthly payments of £454.55 in each academic year
