Mapping Black London in World War II
Dr Olly Ayers, Senior Lecturer in History at NCH, is currently working on a project using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) techniques to chart black activities in wartime London, offering new visual methods of examining the historical connections between the histories of anti-imperial protest, US civil rights and British racial politics. This project is funded by a $10,000 grant from a joint initiative with Northeastern University.
This half-day event, held at NCH in Hilary Term 2019, on the topic of ‘Understanding Brexit’, was a joint venture of NCH Politics & IR faculty and Northeastern Political Science faculty members.
The N.U.in programme gives Northeastern students the opportunity to add an international edge to their studies with a semester abroad. The N.U.in Programme is very different from a traditional study abroad experience—engaging students immediately in the experiential learning model they will follow throughout their years at Northeastern.
Global Engagement Programme
The Global Engagement Programme (GEP) allows Northeastern students to spend a year at NCH, teaching you the business skills necessary for a rewarding career as well as an appreciation of the human experience. GEP teaches students to view employees, suppliers, and shareholders not just as business associates, but people with personal, philosophical, and psychological needs, allowing students to foster the important habit of looking at business decisions in creative ways.
