Operations at NCH

The Operations department ensures the smooth-running of New College of the Humanities. We are in charge of financial management and corporate relationships, the upkeep of The Registry building, Human Resources, and IT facilities.

Chief Operating Officer

Rob’s early career was as a solicitor with Clifford Chance in London and Singapore. He spent four years in corporate finance with 3i and three years with Bain & Company as a consultant. More recently, he has spent eight years as a director and managing director of major educational publishing businesses. He has a degree in history from Oxford University and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Vanessa Carreras BSc (Leeds), ACMA

Financial Controller

Vanessa specialises in finance related functions and is a qualified Management Accountant. For the last 10 years, she has held various Financial Controller positions. The industries she has worked at have varied from Lift Installation, to mobile technology, print distribution, but most notably Further and Higher Education.

HR & Operations Manager

Sheena is responsible for drafting and implementing HR policies and procedures which establish a framework and set standards. She is the first point of contact for staff recruitment and staff welfare. She works closely with management and line managers on staff performance, and other contractual matters. She also has oversight of operations/facilities.
Sheena is working towards gaining her Level 7 CIPD qualification in Human Resource Management.

Facilities Manager

Lee looks after all the facilities at The Registry as well as being the on-site IT technician at the College. He is a trained First Aider and Fire Warden as well as helping to take care of the health and safety aspects at the College. Through managing contractors, Lee ensures our grade one listed building provides the best possible teaching facilities for students and academics. Lee has a First Class Honours in BSc Music Technology from the University of Hertfordshire.
