LAUNCH course structure
LAUNCH comprises two courses: Introductory Capabilities (undertaken in the first year) and Applied Capabilities (covering the second and third years). Together, these two courses represent 50% of the NCH Diploma.
Introductory Capabilities (first year)
The centrepiece of the Introductory Capabilities course is a live brief provided by a real client. You present your recommendations to your client at the end of the Trinity term. This project is supported by seminars covering:

The Applied Capabilities course is structured around two projects: the creation of a new concept and developing a website or an app for it. A number of seminars support this activity:
- Financial Literacy
- Strategy & Problem Solving
- Judgement & Decision Making
- Commercialising Ideas through Technology
- Making the Most of Mentoring
- Getting and Giving Feedback
This activity is supplemented by seminars dedicated to careers activity throughout you three-year undergraduate degree. Seminars include:
- Planning Your Years at the College
- Writing a CV & Cover Letter
- Managing Social Media
- Applications & Psychometric Testing
- Face-to-Face & Video Interview Practice
There are, also, specialist events for Law and for students wishing to apply for Masters degrees.
LAUNCH will also provide the opportunity to discuss how to reconcile personal life and the workplace, including issues surrounding the health and well-being, both for you to stay well at work, as well as knowing how to support others.
