The study of Politics comprises political theory looking at normative questions, and political science looking at the organisation of government. International Relations examines governance, institution-building and decision-making through an analysis of historical phenomena, economic conditions, diplomatic relations, security and socio-cultural linkages among state and non-state sectors. The Law minor aims to provide a thematic basis to academic legal studies which align to career paths that are attractive to alumni of the College, in particular, careers in which knowledge and understanding of corporate, commercial and employment matters are valuable; provide legal knowledge and skills.

Soila (2016) completed her MA Investigative Journalist at City University, and has since pursued a career as a freelance journalist, and is currently a Researcher with the BBC.

Sarah (2017) graduated with a job as a Conference Producer at Arena International Events Group. Having been promoted to Senior Conference Producer, she moved to Financial Times where she is currently Event Content Producer.

Alexander (2017) is currently studying for his MSc Public Policy at UCL. Delia (2017) had summer internships at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Hogan Lovells and Amadeus, subsequently landing a role as a Paralegal at TI Media. She is currently a Paralegal at Time Inc. Omara (2017) graduated with a role as Publishing Trainee at Harper Collins, where she is now Editorial Assistant.

Megan (2018) is currently studying for her Masters degree and King’s College London.

Aaryaman (BA (Hons) Philosophy, Politics & Economics with a major in Politics, 2019) graduated with a job as Geo-Political Risk Analyst at MAX-Security Solutions. Lukas (BSc (Hons) Politics & International Relations with History, 2019) is currently studying for the MSc International Relations at the LSE.

Teaching & learning

Your contact hours will include a mixture of teaching methods best suited to the subject matter and to achieve the learning outcomes for each individual course. Teaching formats include small group tutorials, seminars, and lectures of between 10 and 60 students for your degree courses.
