This MA Philosophy is an excellent preparation for a PhD and a career in academia. It also develops critical reasoning, logic, and systematic approaches to problem solving, alongside an ability to analyse an issue from a broader perspective, to allow you to become a visionary, all of which are highly valued by employers in a variety of fields.
Entry requirements for the MA Philosophy at NCH London.
Offers are typically made to applicants holding an undergraduate degree with at least upper second-class honours (or equivalent). Each applicant will be assessed on an individual basis through their application, a reference and personal statement.
You do not need to have studied Philosophy as your undergraduate degree in order to be considered for a place on this programme.
NCH welcomes applications from mature students who may have been out of education for a while who have equivalent professional experience.
For international students
|English language requirements||
We would typically require an IELTS score of 7.0 (including 6.5 in each component). If you need a visa to study in the UK, then we can only accept the IELTS test from a UKVI approved centre and not any other English language tests due to the visa requirements set by the UK Government. You must have obtained these scores within two years before application to NCH.
EU/EEA students who have taken higher level English as part of their secondary school or university examinations, or who have been educated entirely in English for a minimum of three years before application, may be exempt from these requirements.
