Introduction to Psychology

The Introduction to Psychology course provides an overview of the entire field of psychology. The course introduces some key experiments from the 20th Century, allowing you to explore the study of the human mind and behaviour and investigate the fundamental principles, concepts, and issues in the major areas of contemporary scientific psychology. The course will help you to develop an understanding of human behaviour and cognition, providing the foundation for your studies of this fascinating subject.

Teaching will include ten 90-minute lectures and two 45-minute tutorials per student. These lectures are designed to capture students’ interest and excite their curiosity and allow interactivity and a short time of discussion and questioning, to engage students in the complex discussions surrounding psychology, throughout or at the end of each lecture, as appropriate.
