Operations at NCH

The Operations department ensures the smooth-running of New College of the Humanities. We are in charge of financial management and corporate relationships, the upkeep of The Registry building, Human Resources, and IT facilities.

Chief Executive Officer

Rob’s early career was as a solicitor with Clifford Chance in London and Singapore. He spent four years in corporate finance with 3i and three years with Bain & Company as a consultant. More recently, he has spent eight years as a director and managing director of major educational publishing businesses. He has a degree in history from Oxford University and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Director of Finance

Vanessa specialises in finance related functions and is a qualified Management Accountant. For the last 10 years, she has held various Financial Controller positions. The industries she has worked at have varied from Lift Installation, to mobile technology, print distribution, but most notably Further and Higher Education.

Gabriella Gyorffy

Finance Manager

Gabriella is an experienced financial accountant, currently studying towards her final ACCA exams. She has worked in Accountancy Practice for seven years providing accountancy services for a wide range of businesses before joining the Higher Education Industry.

Lenka Hegedus

Bookkeeper

Lenka is an experienced bookkeeper in the engineering, technology and education industry. Prior to her bookkeeping career, she worked for various private Higher Education institutes as an Admission Officer.

Lenka has worked in the corporate industry for 4 years before joining the Higher Education industry again.

She is currently studying to achieve a full accountancy qualification.

Sheena Van der Merwe

HR & Operations Manager

Sheena is responsible for drafting and implementing HR policies and procedures which establish a framework and set standards. She is the first point of contact for staff recruitment and staff welfare. She works closely with management and line managers on staff performance, and other contractual matters. She also has oversight of operations/facilities.
Sheena is working towards gaining her Level 7 CIPD qualification in Human Resource Management.

HR Manager

Sima has many years of Human Resources experience and has worked within a number of different industries. For the last 10 years Sima has worked within Children’s Publishing and prior to that she has worked in Logistics, IT and Retail.

Sima is MCIPD qualified and has an MA in Human Resource Management.

Timetabling Manager

Lee manages the timetabling needs of the College. He is the main contact for any timetabling queries you have. He can also assist with any ad-hoc room bookings students or staff have for study or event purposes. Lee achieved a First Class Honours studying BSc Music Technology at the University of Hertfordshire in 2011.

Selina supports the Timetabling Manager fulfilling the College’s timetabling needs. Prior to NCH, Selina worked in Corporate Access for top and mid-tier investment banks, scheduling investor and company management meetings and organising conferences and events. She has a BA Hons from Warwick University.

Tom King

Tom King

Facilities Coordinator 

Tom is the primary contact for all Facilities / IT matters across the college, he started in facilities working for an investment bank and went on to further his experience in similar roles for a governing body, a talent agency and now at the College. Tom is now working towards gaining his NEBOSH qualification and looking to begin an IWFM membership.

Shimon Agur

Shimon Agur

VLE and Library Resources Manager

Shimon manages the Virtual Learning Environment and the Library resources at the college and is the first port of call for teaching and learning technology issues as well as library matters both for students and staff. Prior to NCH, Shimon worked with learning technology and as a research assistant at the London School of Economics, as well as a data and operations analyst in the fintech sector. Shimon is passionate about technology in HE and about data and analytics and especially historical data.

Dahlia Muana

HR Administrator

Dahlia assists the HR team with staff recruitment processes, onboarding, and daily administrative tasks. She graduated with her BA Communications and Journalism in 2017.
