The sunny days and lighter evenings we are now enjoying in London have inspired us to make this summer’s full taster days even more exciting, immersive and beneficial for students who are considering studying the humanities or social sciences at university. We anticipate that the new format will help prepare students even better for studying at university.
Participants can expect to enjoy challenging and engaging lectures and workshops, providing in-depth exposure to the study of their chosen subject or academic discipline at university-level. This summer, we will also explore in more detail how university-level education differs from studying at secondary school. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet and chat with undergraduates currently studying at the College.
This year’s taster days will also include a personal statement workshop to help students prepare for their university applications. This workshop will include feedback and suggestions on personal statements from members of our admissions team, who have a wealth of experience of managing admissions at a wide range of universities and institutions.
Our summer taster days will be of interest to students considering the following humanities and social sciences subjects at university:
- Art History
- Creative Writing
- Politics & International Relations
Participants will also enjoy an introduction to NCH London, including our unique ethos, curriculum, teaching methodology and admissions process.
Our Taster Days take place in June and are held at our stunning Grade I-listed building in the heart of vibrant Bloomsbury, just 200 metres from Tottenham Court Road Tube station. They are free to school students in Years 12 and 13 and include a sandwich lunch provided by the College. You can see the schedule and book your place on a taster day here.
